40 Days of Prayer.
I am so thankful that you have chosen to join us on this journey. Over the next 40 days we are going to be looking at God’s Word and letting it guide our prayer. We believe that God has big things in store for SBC. God is going to use these next 40 days to challenge us and lead us to be a more faithful church. I hope that you will be prayerful and pray for big things!
Read: Acts 10
Acts 10 is a chapter that should give you and I tremendous hope! Here we see a few things that are important to you and I today. First we see Peter on the top of the roof praying. During this prayer time he is shown a vision of all kinds of animals and is told to get up and eat. God telling him that all animals are clean, to eat! The funny thing about the exchange is Peter telling the Lord no. He tells God no three times before it finally sinks in. From there he is called to another mans home, but not just anyone’s home, a gentile.
Peter goes to this mans home and enters. I’m Jewish law he is not supposed to go into their homes or associate with them. But now the Gospel is for all people of all nations. So Peter goes into his home and shares the story of Grace with him. He believes and receives the Holy Spirit! That is where we should be so thankful. God has blessed the nations through Jesus Christ! We have access to God! Not through ceremonies, not through rituals, but though Jesus Christ! Are you thankful that he came to you? During this time I pray that you are encouraged by these emails. I pray that you are still in the word. Keep pressing forward. The Lord is at work.
