Day 32

40 Days of Prayer.

I am so thankful that you have chosen to join us on this journey. Over the next 40 days we are going to be looking at God’s Word and letting it guide our prayer. We believe that God has big things in store for SBC. God is going to use these next 40 days to challenge us and lead us to be a more faithful church. I hope that you will be prayerful and pray for big things!

Read: Acts 9

Acts 9 is an amazing chapter. This is the chapter where we see dramatic life change. The life of Saul is well know to those at the time. Saul was out to seek the arrest and death of those who were followers of Christ. He had papers to give him permission to arrest and take them back in chains. His goal was to wipe the church off the face of the globe. He was passionate about destroying the church. He wanted to destroy the Gospel single handily if possible. God had other plans.

On the way to Damascus he was confronted. Saul was confronted by Jesus Himself. Jesus struck him with sudden blindness and sent him to the man that would share the Gospel with Saul. The one that would lead Saul to Jesus. From there we see that Saul became Paul. Paul was the most influential person in Christian history outside of Christ. Paul then saw his passion to destroy the Gospel change. Now he sought to spread it!

This story is a story of change. This story is a story of hope. This story is one that should give us encouragement to keep praying for our lost sheep. Who would have known that the man that sought to destroy the church would become it’s biggest advocate. God would. Imagine if Paul had been your lost sheep? You don’t know what God has planned for your lost sheep. What we do know is that we are to continue to pray for them, no matter where they are at. No matter what they have done. Seek the Lord on their behalf. Spend time today seeking the Lord. Take time to pray for them!
