Day Twenty One

40 Days of Prayer.

I am so thankful that you have chosen to join us on this journey. Over the next 40 days we are going to be looking at God’s Word and letting it guide our prayer. We believe that God has big things in store for SBC. God is going to use these next 40 days to challenge us and lead us to be a more faithful church. I hope that you will be prayerful and pray for big things!

Read: John 19

The Gospel of John is amazing in his perspective with Jesus. How he shows us great details about the most important event in all of human history. This event changed human history. The event that gives us tremendous hope. But in this chapter is a verse that you and I need to take tremendous rest upon.

John 19:30 “When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up His spirit.”

What was finished? Our payment for our sin was finished. The hope that we have for our sin to be cleansed is paid for! Friends, when Jesus said that “it is finished”, that means that all of your sin is paid for! Past, present, and future! Your sin is wiped away! For those who put their faith in this wonderful event, then raised from the grave! It is finished! So in the midst of chaos, we have hope that it is finished.

Adoration– Praise God for paying our penalty. We can never praise Him enough! We can never give Him enough praise for what He has done and continues to do!

Confession- Confess to Him how you often want to take up your own sin, that you want to hold onto it. Pray that He would help you to repent of sin, that it would be finished!

Thanksgiving- Thank Him for the work that He accomplished on the cross! Thank Him for what He has accomplished in your life.

Supplication- Pray for this pandemic to end. Pray for our brothers and sisters on the missions field. Pray for your leaders as we navigate how to love you and keep pointing you to Jesus through all of this. Pray for others to find this great truth.

I am praying for you and thankful. Miss being with you.

Aaron
