Day Fourteen

Day Fourteen.

I am so thankful that you have chosen to join us on this journey. Over the next 40 days we are going to be looking at God’s Word and letting it guide our prayer. We believe that God has big things in store for SBC. God is going to use these next 40 days to challenge us and lead us to be a more faithful church. I hope that you will be prayerful and pray for big things!

Read: John 12

John 12 is packed with great scripture! Occasions that are truly remarkable to the story of the Gospel. But something that I want us to focus on this morning is found in John 12:46-50

46 I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness.
47 If anyone hears my words and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world.
48 The one who rejects me and does not receive my words has a judge; the word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day.
49 For I have not spoken on my own authority, but the Father who sent me has himself given me a commandment-what to say and what to speak.
50 And I know that his commandment is eternal life. What I say, therefore, I say as the Father has told me.” – John 12:46-50

The importance to what Jesus said here is that when you believe in Him and the mission that He came to accomplish, you believe in the one that sent Him. That His arrival was not simply to live a good life and be an example, but He came with a purpose. Jesus entire life was a rescue mission. My children read the Jesus Storybook Bible and I love how it is constantly pointing to the truth of Jesus being on a rescue mission. That Jesus came to do the will of His Father and recuse His people. We now have a mission. As you saw in Matthew 28, we now have a mission. To make disciples. We live in a unique period in the world. Are you using the times to make an impact?

Adoration– Praise God today that Jesus was sent on that great rescue mission. Praise Him that His mission was accomplished!

Confession- Confess to the Lord today your struggle in fulfilling the mission that you’ve been called to take part of. Confess your struggle to be bold. Confess the sins that hold you back from being faithful to the mission.

Thanksgiving-  Thank God that He has saved you as part of this great rescue mission. We have so much to be thankful for.

Supplication- Pray for your lost sheep. Pray that you would be faithful to share with them! Pray that you are a great light during this time!

Thank you again.

Aaron
