Day Twelve

Day Twelve

I am so thankful that you have chosen to join us on this journey. Over the next 40 days we are going to be looking at God’s Word and letting it guide our prayer. We believe that God has big things in store for SBC. God is going to use these next 40 days to challenge us and lead us to be a more faithful church. I hope that you will be prayerful and pray for big things!

Read: John 10

We continue in the dialogue with Jesus and the Jews. Jesus is trying to communicate to them that He and the Father are One. In this chapter we can find much comfort as believers. I know that many of you are looking for comfort during times like this. I want to encourage you with something that is written in this Gospel.

29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.
30 I and the Father are one.” – John 10:29-30

Jesus is talking to the Jews about His sheep. That His sheep hear His voice and they know Him. We who are believers in Christ are His sheep. We have the great Shepherd. With that we can take great encouragement. Jesus says to them that the Father gave Him His sheep. That they are His and that no one can snatch the sheep from His Father’s hand. That means that nothing can separate you from the love of God. Nothing can take you away from Him. No global pandemic, no sickness, no sin, nothing. You are purchased by Him. You are His sheep. Because of this reality this should give you and I greater burden to share the those lost sheep. Those who are outside of relationship with the Father. Will you be burdened for them during a time like this. Take the opportunity to share the hope you have.

Adoration– Praise God today that you are His sheep and you hear His voice. Praise Him for saving you and rescuing you.

Confession- Confess to your Heavenly Father. Confess your sin. Confess your hurt. Confess your fear. He hears you. He loves you.

Thanksgiving-  Thank God that you are in His hands. Thank Him for the beauty of that truth. Thank Him that in the midst of chaos, in the midst of this, you have hope.

Supplication- Pray for our country, community, state, and our church. Pray that during this crisis we are able to shine the light. Pray that we would be seen as wise and understanding. Use this to share with your lost sheep.

Are you inviting them?

Thank you again.

Aaron
