Day Ten

Day Ten.

I am so thankful that you have chosen to join us on this journey. Over the next 40 days we are going to be looking at God’s Word and letting it guide our prayer. We believe that God has big things in store for SBC. God is going to use these next 40 days to challenge us and lead us to be a more faithful church. I hope that you will be prayerful and pray for big things!

Read: John 8

This passage includes a story of beautiful grace and mercy. We see a woman that has been caught in the act of adultery. What we do not see is the other person involved in this action. This is a false trial. This was really not about the woman, but about the response of Jesus. Their hope was to get Jesus to go against the Law of Moses. Jesus response is one of beauty and grace.

John 8:11 “She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more.”

The beauty of this passage can never be overstated. When Jesus had told them that the one that was without sin could cast the first stone, Jesus Himself could have picked up a stone and cast it at her. When all the accusers left because of their guilt, Jesus was there. He could have condemned her. He had every right. He did tell her to go and sin no more. That she was to repent of her sin. To move forward in her new life.

Friends that is our journey. We are to go and sin no more. Repentance is turning away from your sin. Repentance is telling others that you have wronged them, confessing your sin, and walking away from it. The beauty of the Gospel is that there is forgiveness in that repentance. This is the message that we proclaim. That we would repent and believe. There is great hope in this. I pray that you reflect on that great hope. I pray that you share that great hope.

Adoration– Praise God today that you have great hope. That God made a way for hope. He made away for our condemnation to be removed.

Confession- Confession is essential to our faith. We must confess our sins. Our confession is the beginning of repentance. What is it that you need to repent of? How can you make it right? Pray for strength to do so.

Thanksgiving-  We have so much to be thankful for! Thank God for no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. Thank God for blessing you. Thank God for giving such amazing grace.

Supplication- Now is the time to seek the Lord on behalf of your lost sheep. They need Him. They need you to seek God on their behalf. Pray that they would experience this wonderful saving grace of Jesus! Are you sharing with them this message?

Are you inviting them?

Thank you again.

Aaron
