Day Four

Day Four.

I am so thankful that you have chosen to join us on this journey. Over the next 40 days we are going to be looking at God’s Word and letting it guide our prayer. We believe that God has big things in store for SBC. God is going to use these next 40 days to challenge us and lead us to be a more faithful church. I hope that you will be prayerful and pray for big things!

Read: John 2

In John chapter 2 we see the beginning of Jesus public ministry. Beginning with the wedding at Cana. Mary approaches Jesus with a problem, the wedding party was out of wine. This was a social disgrace for the family. Jesus responds by turning water into wine. Next we see Jesus clean out the Temple of those making money off of people there to worship. These two stories show powerful statements about our Lord. One being that He is concerned with our everyday, our hopes, our hurts, and our shame. Also, that our Worship of Him should be filled with repentance. To worship Jesus is to be led to repentance.

This is what I want us to think about as we enter into the time of prayer today. Are we repentant? Do we have a repentant heart? When is the last time that you confessed sin to someone? When is the last time that you admitted that you were wrong?

Adoration– Come to God in praise. Praise Him for creating good things. Praise Him for creating you and blessing you.

Confession- What sins do you need to confess? Anger, pain, resentment, or bitterness? Confess them to the Lord. Let Him rush you with a river of grace.

Thanksgiving- Be thankful for the wonderful grace and mercy that you are given through confession. Thank God for covering your shame. Let your heart see how God has blessed you today.

Supplication- Pray for the hearts of your small group. Pray that we would be a community of confession. That we would be repentant of sin and confess sin to one another. Pray that Springfield Baptist would be a place where lost people come and confess their sin, they confess Jesus is Lord.
